Silicon Carbide (Ssic & Rbsic)
Silicon Carbide (Ssic & Rbsic)
The silicon carbide seal faces, bearings, bushings have the advantages of excellent thermal conductivity, resistant-corrosion, high mechanical strength, self-lubricity, low thermal expansion.
Our range of silicon carbide seal & bearing materials will be found in many challenging industrial applications operating in extreme environments.
Silicon carbide components are widely used in products such as gas seals, mechanical seals, propulsion shaft and slurry seals, slide bearings, radial and thrust bearings where the following properties make it an ideal choice for use in a broad range of industrial processes and engineered design solutions.
Sintered Silicon Carbide (SSiC) is produced using very fine silicon carbide powder containing sintering additives. It is processed using forming methods typical for other ceramics and sintered at 2,200°C in an inert gas atmosphere.
Sintered Silicon Carbide offers a high-performance seal face material that has proven successful in such diverse pumping applications as chemical processing, refining, mining and pulp and paper processing. The material provides superior corrosion and abrasion resistance; shock resistance; and low sliding friction against a wide range of mating materials.
Commonly Silicon Carbide are available in Alfa Sintered (SSIC) Grade and Reaction bonded (Rbsic) Grade as per following specification.
